Before I start writing this post some concepts (or your questions) should have to be clear like…
What is the Module??
A module is an object in the Design Center that acts as a storage location for the various definitions and helps us logically group them.
Why it is required??
Before we can define or import a source data definition, the module must be created to hold it.
1. Defining Source Module
Step 1: Right-click the desired node and select the New option.
Step 2: Enter the Project Name and click OK.
Step 3: Expand the Projects Navigator until you find the node for the appropriate metadata type.
For example, if the source data is stored in Oracle Database, then expand the Databases node to view the Oracle node. If the source data is in an SAP R/3 system then expand the Applications node.
Expand the Database Navigator and Right-click on the Oracle and select the New.
Step 4: You will see a welcome screen displaying the Create Module Wizard in that click on Next.
Step 5: Enter the Name and Description of the Source Data Module and Click Next.
Step 6: Click on the Edit Button to Enter the Database Information.
Step 7: Enter the correct database information and Test the Connection and click OK then it will show you the information.
2. Importing Source MetaData from Database.
Step 1: Right-Click on the ABC_Source module name under the Database node in the Project Explorer. Then select the Import from Pop-Up.
Step 2: After that, you will see the Import Metadata Wizard and you have to click on the Next button on the next button on the Welcome screen.
Step 3: Now you will see the screen presented with the labels with the different Object Type in that you have to Select Only Table Object Type and Click on Next Button.
Step 4: After clicking on the Next button select the object to Import into the module. Then select the Table from availablle table and Import them accordingly.
Step 5: After Importing Table you have to click on the Next button to proceed to the Summary and Import wizard. Then it will summarize the selections that you have made and tell us the action it is going to take for each selection whether to create or re-import the object.
After that click on the Finish button.
Step 6: After Click on Finish button, which will begin the Import process. During the import, you will see a status dialog box display showing the progress of the importing object.
Step 7: After Importing all Tables you will get the Import Result.
